Density, viscosity, and speed of sound have been measured for the binary mixtures of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether (CH(3)OCH(2)CH(2)OH) with 1-hexanol (C(6)H(14)O), 1-octanol (C(8)H(18)O), and 1-decanol (C(10)H(22)O) at temperatures of T = (293.15, 298.15, 303 15, and 308 15) K and at a pressure of 0.1 MPa as a function of composition The experimental density, rho, values were used to calculate the excess molar volumes, V(m)(E) The isentropic compressibilities, kappa(S), have also been calculated with experimental densities and speeds of sound data The values of V(m)(E) were fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial equation and have been used to discuss the presence of significant interactions between polyether and alcohol molecules
