摘要:
Bronchoscopy is an invaluable procedure in the management of lung cancer. It allows for a minimally invasive approach to acquire tissue samples and intervene on cancer-related airway pathologies such as obstruction, stenosis, and hemoptysis. Depending on the procedure being performed, it can serve a role in diagnosis, treatment, or both. Overall, bronchoscopy has been proven to be safe and effective. The next phase of research is centered around peripheral ablation. If found to be safe and effective, it will open yet another frontier for this critical tool.
