The capability of motionless X-ray laminography to detect and characterize damage caused by dynamic loading events is discussed. The Motionless Laminography X-ray (MLX)® system, which is capable to evaluate impact damage in concrete panels has been developed by the Digiray Corp. The MLX has an edge over the traditional X-ray systems because of its speed, high contrast and quality of images, reduced radiation, and probability. The MLX method looks through the concrete panel layer with the help of layer providing information on the extent of damage at different layers along the thickness of the concrete panel. The damages in concrete panel, due to impact loading, can be assessed visually. The motionless X-ray laminorgaphy is of a great help in detecting damages of polypropylene reinforced panels by providing a layer-by-layer view of the damage. The images provide information on the variation and extent of the damage and thus helps in reducing it.
