The article presents information regarding values ( which can be relational, material, professional, psycho-moral and emotional) that are considered by parents as being important for their children. It is important to be aware of the educational and cultural consumption activities which are associated with these values. We are referring to the activities that parents suggest to their children: reading, working, taking part in religious activities, games. The information has been obtained through exploratory research, done on a group of 260 families from the urban and rural environment, that have at least one child between the ages of 7 and 11. We believe that the information is important in order to shape educational strategies which are addressed to parents as well as children.
