摘要
ALMAG(R) A1 and MAGNUM(R) M1 developed as bricks for rotary cement kilns which are subject to mechanical and thermochemical stressing. Use was made of the optimization potential of the physical material properties, especially the elastic modulus and the stress sensitivity index, and of increasing the corrosion resistance of the elastifier. The use of the new ALMAG(R) A1 and MAGNUM(R) M1 bricks can be expected to improve the service life of the brickwork. This means that, as a supplement to the previously used magnesia spinel bricks, there are high-grade and environmentally friendly types of brick available for all kiln zones which exhibit an optimum price-performance ratio even under difficult thermochemical and mechanical conditions. The bricks are installed by the usual methods; it is also possible to use thermal insulation procedures, i.e. to install them as clog bricks and use two-layer brickwork as the basic working lining [3]. ALMAG(R) A1 with its high elasticity and MAGNUM(R) M1 with its high thermochemical resistance are new types of brick which make it possible to provide refractory linings even for difficult conditions of use.
