Site-specific photodeposition of silver on ZnO nanorods

摘要
Head-tail-like nanoheterostructures consisting of ZnO nanorods and silver nanoparticles (see picture) are assembled by site-specific photoreduction of silver ions at the surface of pre-formed ZnO nanorods. Several mechanisms for this process are discussed.
