摘要：
Human immunodeficiency virus is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Currently, no curative therapy exists; therefore, prevention is the best method to control the epidemic. Sexual contact is the most common route of transmission of HIV. This article reviews several strategies for prevention of sexual transmission of HIV. It focuses on vaccine development, antiretroviral therapy, and microbicides.
