摘要
Based on aerospace applications the ongoing research in the field of laser drilling at the DaimlerChrysler research center is presented and advantages of new generations of laser sources are discussed. Single shot drilling is used to perforate titanium sheets for the boundary suction system of laminar flow aircraft fins and wings. Percussion drilling is used to produce cooling holes with high aspect ratios in turbine vanes and blades. Shaped holes in turbine vanes and blades are produced using laser trepanning, helical drilling and ablation.
