Adaptive recognition algorithm for digital modulation communication signal

Recognition of digital modulation schemes plays an important role in communication signal analysis. This paper presents an automatic computer simulation and adaptive recognition algorithm of six kinds of digital modulation types such as 2ASK, 4ASK, 2PSK, 4PSK, 2FSK, and 4FSK, which is applicable to the signal that changes within the scope of the Signal to Noise Rate (SNR) 5 similar to 30 dB. It is opinion that the adaptive algorithm operates rapidly and reliably in automatic recognition of communication signal and it's performance has been evaluated by simulating different types of bind-limited digital signals corrupted by white Gaussian noise. It is found that the overall success rate is not lower than 92% when SNR is over 7 dB.
