摘要：

Candida spp. vertebral osteomyelitis is rare and remains poorly understood. Most patients have risk factors for candidemia or are intravenous drug addicts. Clinical presentation is unspecific: back pain, and sometimes fever. The microbiological diagnosis requires culture of a biopsy specimen. Radiological features are unspecific. Medical treatment is the first step of therapeutic management, based on prolonged courses of fluconazole or liposomal amphotericine B. Surgery is indicated in case of complication (instable location, spinal cord impingement), or to obtain biopsy specimens. The prognosis is good in the absence of significant comorbidity.
