The world of cosmeceuticals exists as a gray zone between cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. This article provides a background discussion, and outlines several areas in which the dermatologist is uniquely qualified to assess the potential benefits of cosmeceuticals, then elaborates on each of these areas with examples of specific products.
