摘要：
An overview of the development of the field of bioorganometallic chemistry in the last 50 years is given. Chemical synthesis routes devised to create conjugates of ferrocene with all different kinds of biomolecules are outlined. Furthermore, the use of electrochemical DNA detection devices, some of which are, in principle, extendable to a chip-based array format is also discussed.
