摘要
The converter is a very important part in non-grid-connected wind power for seawater desalination. It should extract maximum power at different wind speed and adjust the excitation capacitors because the wind turbine drives a self-excited induction generator. A power converter with novel MPPT method named golden section search is designed. Excitation capacitor bank control adopts Hysteresis control method for controlling three capacitor bank. Hardware including three phase rectifier, boost chopper circuit, excitation capacitor banks and electrical signals detection circuit and software including MPPT algorithm, boost controller and excitation capacitor controller are designed in detail. The designed power converter is installed in spot seawater desalination with non-grid-connected wind power. Experimental results prove that the power converter can tract maximum power and adjust excitation capacitor bank.
