摘要
Laser butt joining of Al2O3 ceramic plates was successfully achieved after metallization of the plate end surfaces with Mo by friction stir welding. This pretreatment technique conveniently afforded metallized Al2O3 ceramic plates with a high adhesive strength exceeding 7.16 MPa between the Mo film and the plate. Two pieces of Mo or Ni foil with a thickness of 20 mu m were then inserted between the metallized end surfaces and laser butt joining was performed. The tensile strengths of the butt joints obtained using Mo and Ni foil as the insert material reached 0.21 and 0.63 MPa, respectively.
