摘要
The project The impact of the quality of CO2 on transport and storage behaviour, IMPACTS, was kicked off in January 2013. IMPACTS is a collaborative project under the 7th Framework Programme for research of the EU and is addressing the impact of impurities in captured CO2 from power plants and other CO2-intensive industries, on CO2 transport and storage. This encompasses fluid properties, phase behaviour and chemical reactions in the infrastructure complex and at the storage sites. These issues are paramount for ensuring safe and efficient transport and storage solutions for CCS, since capture of CO2 without safe and efficient transport and storage offers no merit. IMPACTS has 12 research performing partners and 5 funding partners, and a total budget of 5.6 million Euros over three years. This paper outlines the concept, objectives, research approach and organisation of IMPACTS. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
