FINANCIAL EFFICIENCY OF INDIAN BANKS USING DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS APPROACH

Economic reformation in India started in 19th century, but their outcomes are visible now. The reason behind the outcomes is the liberalization, higher remarkable and strengthen the present system. The wealth of a nation is decided by GDP, in which the service sector plays a major role of deciding the GDP. The new technologies and process of new reforms in banking embodied an incentive for banking management to focus on growth in terms of efficiency and competitive environment. The major scope of the paper is analysing the performance of Indian commercial banks for the financial year 2018-2019. The opportunity to study in this attempt is the relative efficiency of Decision making units (DMU's) in India using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). This paper also exhibits and proved on the basis of financial data statistically insignificant at non-parametric approach. The results of secondary data show PSBs group shows higher efficiency as compared with the Pvt. SBs but on average Pvt. SBs are not much degrading its potential performance.
