Comparison of health monitoring systems with Fiber Bragg grating and piezoelectric sensors

摘要
The objective of this paper is to compare for the purpose of damage detection two differe sensor's networks, a piezoelectric array vs. a Fiber Bragg gratings, bonded to a metallic plate wi bonded/bolted stringers. The test specimen has bonded piezoelectric wafers that can be used either sensors or actuators, so initially the tests have been done for different kind of damage with differe piezoelectric acting as actuator while the others act as sensors. Identical tests has been done wi optical fiber Bragg grating acting as sensor and using different piezoelectric as actuators. For de analysis statistical data treatment has been used.
