摘要
A novel tunable left-handed (LH) leaky wave (LW) antenna using shunt inductances with ferrite superstrate is proposed. A practical equivalent circuit model for the proposed LH LW antenna is introduced, and a possible beam scanning functionality by an external DC magnetic field is discussed. A 15-unit-cell tunable LH LW antenna is fabricated using YIG thin disks, and a beam scanning by an external DC magnetic field controlled by positioning a permanent magnet is demonstrated.
