摘要
The increasing interest in the integration of Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) controllers into electrical networks in recent time is largely due to its proven technical, economic and environmental benefit. These benefits may be maximized by situating these controllers in their optimal location. Consequently, this work utilizes a non-traditional optimization technique to optimize the parameters of FACTS controllers for their optimal placement. Single and multiple FACTS integration has been exploited with an aim of reducing generation cost. The results which are encouraging validates the use of various mix of FACTS controllers for power system enhancement.
