Bullying and Life Satisfaction in Rural School Adolescents in Peru: The Moderating Effect of Support at School

摘要
In Peru, about 1 million adolescents live in rural areas and face different economic, social and educational problems (INEI, 2017). Given this, there are few studies focused on understanding the bullying and subjective well-being of these adolescents in relation to the rural educational services they attend. In this sense, the objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between bullying and experienced subjective well-being. In addition, the moderating effect of support from adults and peers at school on this relationship was analyzed for each the rural educational services. The sample consisted of 2574 students from the three rural educational service models (Secundaria Tutorial, Alternancia y Residencial) from 12 to 18 years (M = 14.64). The results showed that the students of the three educational models experience high levels of well-being, with the tutorial secondary model being the group that reports a higher level of the index. Finally, in relation to bullying on the subjective well-being of rural adolescents, it was concluded that this variable is significantly associated with subjective well-being in the three rural educational models, while the moderation analysis showed that both types of support generate a determining effect. about the well-being of the student with his life in general.
