摘要
The staggered double vane (SDV) sheet beam traveling-wave tube (TWT) is an important high power microwave source with a board application prospect such as detection, communication and diagnostics systems. It has large power capacity and compact structure which is very appropriate for high power continuous wave (CW) airborne and spaceborne applications. In this paper, the RF structure for a full Ku band SDV TWT has been designed. The bandwidth of the structure is enlarged and phase velocity taper profile is optimized with heuristic algorithm to enhance the beam-wave interaction and produce high output power. The output of the designed SDV TWT has been greatly increased over the full Ku band, a saturated output power of more than 10.9kW has been achieved over the band from 12 GHz to 18GHz according to CST particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations.
