摘要
We report a Re-Os isochron age for bornite veinlets with chalcopyrite +/- chalcocite margins that are parallel to sub-parallel to bedding in carbonaceous Kupferschiefer black shale from the underground workings of the Lubin and Polkowice mines in SW Poland. A Model 1 regression on four different samples yields 212 +/- 7 Ma, with an initial Os-187/Os-188 ratio of 2.13 +/- 0.31 (MSWD = 1.3). The analysed Cu-sulphides have Re concentrations ranging from 5 to 12 ppb, and total Os concentrations ranging from 26 to 52 ppt. Significant common Os is present in all of the analysed samples. The origin of the Kupferschiefer mineralization is commonly attributed to multiple flow events of low temperature oxidizing metalliferous fluids from basinal sediments and trapped by the geochemical barrier of carbonaceous black shale rich in organic carbon. Our results strongly suggest that within the world-class mining area in Poland the main economic Ag-bearing Cu sulphide mineralization event took place in the Late Triassic (Norian), ca. 212 +/- 7 Ma.
