摘要
The nonlinearity of lead and germanium based films with thickness of 1.5 mu m was studied using a mode-locked picosecond Nd:YAG laser at 1064 nm and its second harmonic at 532 nm. Nonlinear refractive indices of approximate to 10(-16) m(2)/W and two-photon absorption coefficients varying from approximate to 10(2) cm/GW at 1064 nm to approximate to 10(3) cm/GW at 532 nm were measured. The results show that the films have potential applications in optical limiting devices. (c) 2007 American Institute of Physics.
