Generation of Hollow MnSiO3 Nanostructures through the Solid-State Reaction of Mn3O4 and Pd/PdO Nanocrystals Dimensionally Confined within Nanosized Silica Spheres

摘要
In the course of annealing Mn3O4 and Pd/PdO nanocrystals co-encapsulated within a nanosized silica sphere under a reducing environment, we observed that the reduction of Mn3O4 into MnO was facilitated by the Pd/PdO nanocrystals. Successive annealing at high temperatures induced the MnO nanocrystals to react with the silica matrix, resulting in the formation of hollow nanostructures composed of a polycrystalline MnSiO3 shell.
