摘要
From the solid foundation of the two-band systems concept, a unifying picture is given of the very large effort on conducting metal dithiolene complexes where the fascinating interplay of the HOMO and LUMO orbitals within complexes where the HOMO-LUMO level splitting is small has yet to reach its full potential. Concepts such as orbital degree of freedom, multisheet Fermi surface, solid crossing column structures, and spanning overlap are formulated.
