摘要：

Grid computing has emerged as an important new field and attracted more and more attentions in the research community recently. This paper addresses the nature of grid computing, the grid attributes, and the characteristics that distinguish grid computing from conventional distributed computing. Analysis shows different applications should be built on different infrastructures. The paper concludes with a brief discussion on the factors that are essential for grid computing to be successful.
