List of recommended sugar beet varieties in czech republic for 2015

Thirty-eight varieties entered the list of recommended sugar beet varieties in the year 2014. In tests, seeds treated with Cruiser Force preparation were used exclusively. Weather in 2014 was favorable for sugar beet development, which also demonstrated by an above-average bulb yield (by 14 t.h(-1) in average), average sugar content decreased by 1%. The list of recommended sugar beet varieties (SDO) is published every year by the Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture (UKZUZ) commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic. Those who take part in the process are Sugar Beet Growers Associations, sugar companies and seed firms. The testing replaces the former system of United testing of registered sugar beet varieties (existing since 1993). Leaf diseases, yield, sugar content, sugar yield etc. are evaluated. The overall indicator, the INDEX, expresses parameters of a variety to the average of all tested assortment on a relative scale. The varieties are evaluated independently within the same tolerance. SDO lists not only the 2014 results, but also the two-and three-year long evaluation results. Results from Bezno, Straskov and Lutin locality, where the beet cyst nematode appeared, are shown separately.
