Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have been integrated into all areas, giving access to many possibilities in human activities. This research was developed at the Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabi University in El Carmen, in 2018 in order to determine the most used technological resource by university students. A qualitative research was applied, likewise the information was collected through a survey in which the 1.418 students of the different specialties were taken as a sample; then through a descriptive analysis to get the results in which the most used technological resource was established, even the time students dedicate every day, and the activities students do with this resource. It was also evidenced that the university students of the different specialties use ICT and that the most frequently used equipment is the cell phone with a time of 4 to 8 hours a day in educational activities, these results allowed contrasting the positive of the use of ICT in the teaching - learning process.
