The changing role of the library director: Fund-raising and the academic library

With increased costs and decreased funding, it will be increasingly necessary for library directors to become heavily involved in fundraising, or development. As the role of the director changes, he/she will need to acquire nontraditional knowledges and skills, and must simultaneously ensure that the library is operating smoothly.
