摘要
One cannot overstate the importance of computational engineering and optimization in the global industrial economy, particularly as the systems we use grow more necessary and more complex (cellular telephone telecommunications systems, the electric power grid, the internet, air transport systems, etc.). Today most microwave structures and therefore microstrip antennas are designed and optimized using CAD (computer aided design) software packages that can compute all parameters that are of interest to a designer [1][2]. Different CAD packages use different mathematical methods to calculate currents and electric fields on a structure. Frequently used methods are FEM (Finite Element Method) and MoM (Method of Moments) In this paper we use a CPW antenna to compare simulated results of exactly the same structure using two powerful softwares HFSS and ADS. Both simulation and measured results show that this antenna has a UWB from 2- 11 GHZ.
