摘要：

This article presents the basic concepts of thermoregulation and hyperthermia in horses. The effect of environmental conditions on the dissipation of metabolic heat and the consequences thereof are discussed. Indices describing environmental heat load and strategies to acclimatize horses that are scheduled to compete under such conditions are also summarized.
