摘要
Objective: The study was carried out to examine the mediating role of individual and oiganizational variables in the effect of emotional intelligence levels of healthcare professionals on compassion fatigue. The mediating variables aimed to be examined in the study were determined as happiness and prosocial motivation in the individual sense, organizational support and distribution justice in the organizational sense. Material and Method: The study was carried out with 555 healthcare professionals working in public and university hospitals in Konya, selected by random sampling method. IBM SPSS 22 and LISREL 8.7 package programs were used to analyze the data obtained from the research. The validity of the scales was investigated by confirmatory factor analysis through the LISREL 8.7 program. Cronbach Alpha coefficient was used for scale reliability. Correlation analysis was applied to examine the relationship between scales and their dimensions. The hypotheses formed within the scope of the research were tested by making a path analysis with the structural equation model. Results: A negative and significant relationship was found between emotional intelligence level and compassion fatigue. In this relationship, it was concluded that happiness in the individual sense, perceived oiganizational support and distribution justice in the organizational sense have a partial mediating role, and that the prosocial motivation variable examined individually does not mediate this relationship.
