摘要
Today, imagining the "great American novel" without any Indigenous characters or themes would be seen as problematic. Equally problematic, however, is the representation of Indigenous characters by non-Indigenous writers. How can this be done in a respectful and well-informed way, avoiding false and reductive images? Pamela Sing suggests possible answers by examining the role of the Metisse in Jacques Poulin's Volkswagen Blues and L'homme de la Saskatchewan.
