Engineering and Technology Management (ETM) is a growing field that has many practitioners worldwide. Over the past five decades, one of the remarkable changes is the growing profesionalization of the field via graduate degrees, professional associations, conferences, publications, and systemic research into component issues. Another is the scope of ETM activities, from a major concentration on the R&D/Technology functions in industry and not-for-profits to a broader set of functions in both kinds of organizations. Overall, these changes hold promise for even more impact by the people and the approaches under the rubric of Engineering and Technology Management.
