摘要
Copper Zinc Tin Sulphide (CZTS) is synthesized using Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method and compared with the Chemical Bath deposition (CBD) method. Thin films on glass substrate formed by the SILAR method are found to give better deposition in water solvent than ethanol. No deposition forms if the acidity of the solvent is not reduced. 100 SILAR cycles give a band gap of 1.54 eV with water as solvent. EDX results show that alkalinity of the solvent reduces the presence of tin in the adsorbed deposition. XRD results show the formation of CZTS and a secondary phase of covellite CuS. SEM image shows formation of porous grains in the SILAR process and rod like structures in the CBD process. The grain size in SILAR synthesized CZTS is found to increase with increase in the number of SILAR cycles. The importance of pH of the cation bath and the concentration of the precursor salts are crucial to the growth of thin film CZTS by the SILAR method. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
