Application of Composite Thermal Sprayed Coatings

摘要
Thermal sprayed coatings are widely used for the protection against the abrasive wear of rapidly wearing parts of different kind of milling equipment. Coatings of tungsten carbide based hardmetal, nickel based self-fluxing alloy and composites on their basis were deposited using HVOF and spray fusion process. Abrasive impact wear tests were performed on these coatings with granite gravel in 4-6 mm size range and test results with abrasive erosion test results with silica abrasive were compared. Case study of the wear resistance of the coatings in disintegrator mill is proposed.
