With the advent of PCS many analog microwave systems operating in the 2 GHz band are being moved to the 6 GHz bands. This typically requires converting to a Digital Microwave System This paper discusses considerations that should be evaluated prior to a move, and outlines a procedure that can be used to implement the conversion with a minimum of disruption to the user traffic.
