摘要
The early years of the 21st century have been exciting times for clinical psychology, and for mental health research more generally. Revolutions in genetics and neuroscience point to new ways of understanding, assessing, and treating psychological disorders. Developments in statistics, combined with rapid advances in computer power, allow us to test increasingly complex models. Several decades of increasing attention to the development of evidencebased treatments have led to a solid database on specific techniques designed to ameliorate a wide range of problems. Many of these advances are compelling due to apparently wide generalizability: genomes and brains are the same everywhere; statistical models are meant to apply far beyond the specific participants; and effective treatments ought to be those that can overcome linguistic and economic barriers to be adopted worldwide. © 2014 Guilford Publications, Inc.
