Role of complexation in the kinetics of photochromic transformations of spiropyrans

摘要
The kinetics of thermal decoloration and coloration of complexes of spiropyrans 1',3',3'-trimethyl-8-methoxyspiro(indolino-2,2'-[2H-1] benzopyran) (SP1) and 1'-phenyl-3',3',-dimethyl-6-nitro-8-methoxyspiro(indolino-2,2'-[2H-1] benzopyran) (SP2) with Pb2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, and Y3+ in acetone. The complexation increases the lifetime of the open-chain (merocyanine) form of spiropyrans. The time of thermal coloration of the complexes is much longer than that of the spiropyrans.
