Novel identification method from step response

摘要
Methods to estimate process model parameters from both open loop and closed loop step responses are proposed. The distinctive feature of the proposed methods is that the model parameters are estimated from a single step test even if the step input is applied when the process is not at a steady state. More importantly, the estimation equations are developed in terms of raw values of variables as opposed to their deviational values. This facilitates direct use of industrial data without preprocessing. The performance of the proposed algorithms is demonstrated via simulations as well as experimental applications.
