摘要：

The term naturalism describes a type of literature that attempts to apply scientific principles of objectivity and detachment to its study of human beings. It is a means and at once an important tool to interpret and explore the essence of the realistic literary creation as the development of realism. This article lays its focus on the analysis of naturalism, its characteristics compared with realism, its background knowledge, its beginning and development and one of its most distinguished representatives.
