摘要
This paper reflects aspects related to the population level of knowledge regarding to waste management in different areas of Romania. The study was conducted by applying an online questionnaire using the Google Drive interface. From the analysis of the obtained results can be highlighted aspects related to the perception of the population regarding waste management. Some results reveal the fact that 81.1% of respondents have information about waste management, 18.9% answered negatively to this item. Regarding the impact of waste on health and the environment, 98.8% of respondents agreed that waste has an impact on the environment. Also, from the analysis of the obtained results 86.1% of the respondents claim that there is a causal relationship between the way in which waste management is performed and health. In order to improve waste management in Romania, the respondents identified: a more restrictive legislation, promoting the importance of waste management in the media, education and public debates on waste management.
