A Linear Array of Patch Antennas for a Ku-band Phased Array With a Rotatable Polarization Plane

摘要
This paper presents a Ku-band linear array that can change the main-beam direction and the polarization angle of a linearly polarized (LP) wave electronically. The radiating elements are dual circularly polarized patch antennas, and an LP wave is generated by combining left-handed circularly polarized (LHCP) and right-handed circularly polarized (RHCP) waves. A four-element linear array is designed at 14.25 GHz, and both the main-beam direction and the polarization angle are controlled by changing only the excitation phases of the radiating elements.
