Current Situation and Development Trend of Structural Steel in China

In China, the consumption of structural steel is biggest, that is more than 50% of the total consumption of steel products. The rapid development of construction industry provides a wide range of markets for the development and application of construction steel. The development and application of construction steel varieties has been made great progress. However, compared with developed countries, scientific research and technology development for the construction steel is still relatively backward. The research fund is relative short, the development of new varieties is still in the learning tracking status, This paper summarizes the structural steel in China R & D and application status, as well as structural steel-related standards. And the domestic and international status quo and development trend of structural steel has been comparative analysis, especially the development trends of structural steel products with seismic, fire resistance, corrosion resistance performance has been analyzed and summarized.
