Bainite transformation in Fe-0.34%C-Nb steels

摘要
The kinetics of bainite transformation, especially microstructure evolution of Fe-0.34%C-Nb steels was investigated. At both 30 degrees C/s and 20 degrees C/s cooling rates, B-s of 0.2%Nb steel is higher than that of 0.01%Nb steel, while the difference of B-f of those seems not significant, moreover, the amount of bainitic ferrite plates with 1-3 mu m thickness of 0.2%Nb steel is larger than that of 0.01%Nb steel. At 30 degrees C/s cooling rate, the dominating morphology of carbides of 0.2%Nb steel is discontinuous stringers and isolated particles, while in 0.01%Nb steel the continuous stringers seem increasing. The bainitic ferrite was found to nucleate at austenite/carbide interface as well as at austenite/ferrite interface.
