Hydrothermal synthesis of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 and its application in visible light photocatalytic activity

摘要
La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) manganite has been synthesized by hydrothermal method. Nano-sized sample LSMO with rod-like morphologies was obtained. The structural, optical and photocatalytic properties were systematically investigated. The structural study confirmed that the as-synthesized sample is crystallized in rhombohedral structure with R-3c space group. In addition, the composition of the sample is similar to the stoichiometric ratios of LSMO. Band gap energy of 2 eV has been depicted by the optical study, which is an important factor for introducing this sample as a promising candidate in visible light photocatalytic activities. This process has been tested by the decolorization of Reactive Black 5 solution (10 ppm) for the sample (0.5 g/L) that confirms the considerable photocatalytic activity of the sample. Finally, this sample has been used for six different runs, based on which the reusability of this sample is confirmed.
