摘要
Pulsed eddy current (PEC) is a new nondestructive testing (NDT) technique using a broadband pulse excitation with rich frequency information and has wide application potentials. Pulsed eddy current (PEC) signals are investigated as tools for the evaluation of plate thickness by using the reflection type PEC probe, which consists of an exciter coil and one sensor coil. Analysis of PEC signals shows that the area difference of the induction voltage curve closely correlation to the plate thickness and interval between the probe and the plate (Lift-off). Experiments accord with the numerical simulations well. The evaluation error is less than 5%. And it is effective in remove liftoff noise in reflection PEC signals.
