Determination of the Integral Emissivity of a Periclase-Carbon Lining

摘要
Experimental values have been determined for the integral emissivity (blackness) of periclase-carbon refractories used in the working layer of the lining of steel-pouring ladles. The values were found for the range 500-900A degrees C. It was established that the emissivity of periclase-carbon refractories is considerably higher than that of periclase refractories. Use of the data which were obtained is making it possible to more accurately measure the temperature of such linings by the pyrometric method.
