摘要
In the paper the cooling characteristics of water at different temperatures, water salt and water sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide Solutions are analyzed on the basis of designed and manufactured acoustical system. It is established that acoustical system provides repeatable results of measurement and is an excellent tool for investigation of transient film and nucleate boiling processes duration. It has been established by authors that film boiling is absent during quenching in sodium chloride and sodium hydroxide solutions due to existence of double electrical layer which increases the first critical heat flux density. The resuls of investigations were compared with the accurate experiments of French which also support this idea. It is underlined that acoustical system can be successfully used to investigate effect of small amount of special addities to water and water Solutions to eliminate film boiling during quenching of steel parts. Achieved results of investigations can be used in the heat treating industry to improve cooling characteristis of quenchants.
