摘要
The paper deals with simulation and optimization of a subset of AMDs Fab30 automation structure, a modern semiconductor fabrication (fab). The task of this industrial - academic collaboration the evaluation of the use of Petri net techniques in order to improve industrial simulation tools. The paper is organized as follows. Section 3 motivates the work. Section 4 introduces a semiconductor manufacturing execution system (MES). Section 5 informs some industrial simulation strategies and Section 6 shows a Petri net based simulation strategy of a subset of a MES. Section 7 concludes the paper with a brief discussion of both strategies.
